Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Remakes Might Be Heading to Switch This Year
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, two DS titles that originally released in 2006, might be getting the Nintendo Switch treatment next month. That is, the two games might be joining other Pokemon titles on Nintendo’s hottest-selling console, if these rumours are to be believed.
Originally reported on by Spanish site Centro Pokemon, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are said to be announced to head to Nintendo Switch sometime in February to coincide with the series 25th anniversary. And as VG24/7 tells it, the website diamondpearl.pokemon has been enabled, but with the website access currently blocked.
From the information we’ve gleaned from the original source, the two games don’t look to be absolute remakes in the same vein as, say, Final Fantasy 7 Remake. For example, the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Switch remakes will keep the classical capture system, and not have the updated version from Pokemon Let’s Go.
At the moment, the only evidence that’s available is the website so this remake is far from being officially confirmed. Still, considering that fans of Pearl and Diamond have been asking for some sort of remake for a while now, there’s some hope they’ll get what they want from Nintendo this year. Some have even speculated that the releases will be out in November, but again, that has not been confirmed.
Pokemon’s 25th anniversary is on February 27th. Regardless of whether you believe the rumour to be true or not, we at least don’t have to wait long to find out.
