The Stardew Valley 1.5 update is its biggest yet

Just when you thought that Stardew Valley couldn’t get any bigger, the 1.5 update happens and we’ve got our hands full with a number of new things to try out.

The Stardew Valley 1.5 update changes was revealed by creator Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe, on a blog post. On it, it highlighted just some of the changes that fans can expect to come when the update hits their chosen console.

Here is a list of additions from Barone, all of which are spoiler-free:

  • New people to meet
  • New goals
  • Many new items
  • A new type of quest
  • A new farm layout
  • New character events
  • A new Community Upgrade
  • Home renovations (after you’ve fully upgraded your house)
  • Ducks can now swim
  • You can sit in chairs
  • You can move your bed
  • Fish Tanks
  • A bunch of new furniture items as well as new furniture types like wall sconces
  • New secrets
  • 9 new music tracks

Barone didn’t want to spoil much with the update, but he did want to give players – particularly those who were thinking of starting a new game and farm – some incentive to jump back in. For example, the character creation has a few new options – and we don’t just mean a different style of pants.

One of the changes was the addition of a Beach Farm, which is exactly what it sounds like – a farm, but with a beach, so do expect sand, fish, and all your other favourite beach accessories like clams and seashells. Now you don’t have to go far to get some foraging done!

The 1.5 update for Stardew Valley is already out on PC, but consoles can expect it to come to them early next year. To find out more, head on over to the official changelog.
