Discover love and more in ValiDate: Struggling Singles

Being a person is tough. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you, but what sort of life will that be? Will you fall in love, get friends, get that job you always wanted? In ValiDate: Struggling Singles, you’ll get the option to explore the twisting paths of young adulthood and all the troubles that come with it.

Developed by Veritable Joy Studios, ValiDate is a visual novel created by a team that consists entirely of people of colour, with the main cast of the game containing 12 characters of colour – with all of them being LGBT+. There are more than enough visual novel games with an all-white cast, so we’re very down to see what ValiDate has on offer.

The game takes place in the Jercy City area, where twelve struggling singles try to navigate their lives through the overwhelming ordeals of capitalism and more. Because getting a job during these times? Yeah right.

You’ll have 12 playable characters to choose from, and with over 30 routes, that’s a lot of content for you to get through. Each character is unique, and who you fall in – or out of – love with will be dependent on your choices.

ValiDate is currently on Kickstarter, and it’s demo is available on As of this article being written, ValiDate is just a little over halfway of its goal to being funded, so if after playing the demo you want to support this game, head on over to Kickstarter and do just that.
