Lake is a Game About Delivering Mail in a Small Town
The weekend’s Guerrilla Collective gave us a ton of awesome new trailers and teasers. But one thing, in particular, caught our eye: a little game called Lake, where the objective is to travel around a small town, delivering people’s mail.
Set in the 1980s, you’ll be playing as 40-something Meredith Weiss, who has just made her way home to Providence Oaks, Oregon. Providence Oaks is a small, rural town with a lake, as you may have guessed, that seems to stretch on for miles. As we saw in the announcement trailer, Providence Oaks, small as it may be, looks breathtaking.
Meredith returns home in order to fill in for her old dad, a delivery man. She’s got up to 3 weeks to spend doing that job and according to developer Gamious, it’s up to the player how Meredith will be spending these three weeks back home. She can get into romances, reconnect with her bff, and so much more. Maybe we can even sit by the lake, we mean, there’s a reason that’s the name of the game, right? Regardless, there’s things to do and places to see, it’s just up to you on what choice you choose.
Here are just a few features that Lake offers:
- Shape the main character’s story through refined branching narratives.
- Feature 3 different endings based on the player’s choices.
- A beautiful environment players can drive through.
- Set in the pre-digital 1980’s, Lake offers a break from today’s ever-connected, never- alone society.
