Animal Crossing promises a splashing good time with a new update on July 3rd

What’s the best thing to do when you experience a heatwave? Why, find the nearest pool and jump into it, of course! While we may be unable to do just that, Animal Crossing has a new update that’ll allow players to suit up and splash around on July 3rd.

For some of us, Animal Crossing has become a little stale. Maybe you’ve done absolutely everything you could think of, or you’re just tired of seeing that one villager you hate each and every day. No matter the reason, this update sounds like an excellent reason to get back into the swing of things.

As you can see from the announcement on Twitter, in Wave 1 (the name of the update), you’ll be able to collect underwater sea creatures and then donate them to Blathers and the museum. As of right now, we’re uncertain if sea creatures will be able to be told to Cyrus, but considering they come from the sea, we assume you’ll be able to.

Players will also get a new encounter with the otter, Pascal. He is very keen of all the things you pick up from the ocean floor, and if you play your cards right, he’ll even give you DIY ideas too. Because let’s face it, who doesn’t want to make the perfect mermaid room?

If Pascal isn’t up to your standards though, then don’t worry, you’ll get the chance to meet Gulliver again… But in pirate form! What could this mean? Looks like we’ll have to wait until July 3rd to find out.

So Animal Crossing fans, are you ready to go diving in this new update? Check out the full video for more information and a teaser of what’s to come in August.
