Paper Mario: The Origami King releases on Nintendo Switch this July

Paper Mario: The Origami King has you joining in on some paper-folding fun this July 17th. Alongside Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach — who is acting a little stranger than we remember — players will need to uncover a dastardly plot in a world of paper.

This world of paper is governed by King Olly, a guy who claims to be the ruler of the Origami Kingdom. While everyone else is pretty fine with just being paperless and 2D, Olly is adamant in his plan to fold the entire world. Sounds pretty dastardly if you ask us.

Unfortunately, King Olly has managed to take Princess Peach’s castle and transported it somewhere else, leaving it up to us to find it and try to defeat the king in the process. But don’t worry, Mario has a ton of allies and even his old nemesis, Bowser, hasn’t completely folded under Olly’s whims.

With a world that looks beautiful and vibrant, players will get a look at Mario’s new abilities, such as the 1000-Fold Arms. This allows players to interact with the landscape by stretching out and pulling, peeling, and revealing new locations that can help in solving puzzles.

You can pre-load the game today if you decide to purchase it early, but if you’re as excited to dive into Paper Mario: The Origami King and have a fun, paper adventure like us, why wait?
