Xbox Series X specs point to a bright future for Microsoft
The newest Xbox console has yet to be given a release date, or even a solid price, but that hasn’t stopped the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, from giving out more details about the Xbox Series X specs and the future of gaming with Microsoft. And to be honest? It looks bright.
In a detailed blog post posted yesterday, Spencer spoke about the Xbox Series X processor, aka the power behind the console, its rate-shading, and ray-tracing, as well as other, dynamic features like the Quick Resume and the 120 FPS support.
The post informed us that the Xbox Series X would be one of the most powerful consoles “ever powered.” It will deliver four times “the processing power of an Xbox One and enabling developers to leverage 12 TFLOPS of GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) performance – twice that of an Xbox One X and more than eight times the original Xbox One.” This means bigger, better game worlds and higher framerates.
Features like Quick Resume will allow gamers to jump back into their games from a suspended state “almost instantly.” No longer do you have to wait through ridiculously long loading screens, or go through hoops just to get back where you were beforehand.
Microsoft are also planning to include the Smart Delivery. With this technology, gamers will be able to purchase a game once and know that no matter what you’re playing on, whether it be the Xbox One or the Xbox Series X, you’re playing the right version.
To find out more about the Xbox Series X, we recommend you check out the blog post from Phil Spencer in full. It’s enlightening and makes us wonder just how difficult it’s going to be to choose which console we’ll be buying in the future.
