Stardew Valley sells over 10 million copies worldwide
If you know anything about our deputy editor, you’ll know that she’s an avid lover of Stardew Valley and will talk your ear off about it. In fact, it wouldn’t shock us to know that she was the one who bought the farming simulator game twice on each platform it’s been released on.
This is why we’re incredibly happy, via Dualshockers, to know that Stardew Valley has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. That’s an incredible achievement, especially for a game that at first only had one person, Eric Barone/ConcernedApe, working on it when it first hit Steam back in 2016. It’s only been four years, but it feels like a lifetime.
Back in August 2019 the game had only sold 6 million, so for the game to get 4 million more sales in such a short time? Well, that’s nothing short of amazing as far as we’re concerned.
There was no announcement about the new milestone, but as Dualshockers explained, it was a subtle update on the games’ press page that let us know about Stardew Valley’s latest achievement.
Stardew Valley has been going strong for a long time, getting a makeover from Barone a various amount of times, the help of Chucklefish, and a port to consoles and even mobile. It’s hard not to access this well-loved game and goes to show that with enough resources, anything is possible.
As we’ve argued before, Stardew Valley is incredibly gay-friendly and updates pretty often, so if you haven’t got the game yet – what are you waiting for? Go do that right now!
