Super Mario Maker 2’s Zelda update gives you the power of the Master sword
If you’re after a way to spice up your Mario games and keep your friends guessing, then the Super Mario Maker 2’s Zelda update may just be the thing you’re looking for. Not only does it include the option of you being reskinned as our favourite hero, Link, but you even get the legendary Master sword too.
How this works is that, when you’re playing as Mario in the Super Mario Bros Game style, you’ll be able to come across blocks that will store the Master sword inside. Mario will transform into Link, and will have access to a ton of new abilities.
These include new attacks, such as the down slash, the dash attacks, use your trusty shield to block attacks, as well as use bombs to get through walls that block your way. To say you’d be prepared is a huge overstatement.
You won’t have to wait long either. This update comes out on Thursday the 5th, and it doesn’t just add Zelda stuff either. The new update comes with other Mario items such as new blocks – P blocks and Dash blocks – as well as new enemies like Spike and Pokey.
And if that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, this new update also comes with an added speedrun mode that pits you and other players against one another. Not only will you get the bragging rights when you defeat other players, but you’re gonna be bragging while being Link. That’s pretty damn cool.
