The Gayming Podcast, Episode 2: The one about The Game Awards, singing turds and skinning Pikachu

Episode 2 of The Gayming Podcast has just dropped! We had so much fun recording this one, but I doubt we’ll be welcome at The Game Awards any time soon!

What’s In Your Slot? In this opening section we talk about Outer Worlds, Sayonara Wild Hearts and Pokémon Sword & Shield. It’s here that Shay suggested similarities with Monster Hunter and how Monster Hunter feels like the next step up from Pokémon which led to the suggestion, that like in Monster Hunter, we would be catching and skinning Pokémon in the next game!

Gayming News: Further into the episode, we talk about despite the CEO of Activision Blizzard saying that games aren’t political, we argue that games ARE political by definition and almost have a responsibility to be political. I talked about our Black Friday coverage, including our own Black Friday merch deal of 15% off! Ed then started talking about an operatic turd, which was one hell of a link into the world of musical video games!

Hot Topic: We talked through the nominations of The Game Awards. We realised just how many categories there are, plus how a lot of them are very similar! We talked through the majority of the categories and who our winners are, regardless of who might actually get the win. And then we learnt about Shay’s Hideo Kojima conspiracy theory, which we initial thought was rubbish, but by the end of the episode we were believers! You have to listen to the full episode to find out what that means!
