Seven video game characters I want to be ‘vibe checked’ by

Vibe checks are so weird. It’s been a while since memes have confused me, but the ardent desire from folks wanting to be stabbed by characters, including video game characters, has left me scratching my head.

Well, at first. Then I realized I want The Huntress from Dead by Daylight to love me and it suddenly all makes sense.

But she isn’t the only one who I want to be vibe checked by. Far from it. There are at least several video game characters who’s vibes I wouldn’t mind penetrating me every now and then. But only if 24/7 is impossible…

Aria (Mass Effect)

One of the most important things you’re told in Mass Effect 2 is ‘don’t fuck with Aria.’ It seems like some really bad advice, because Aria is hot and I am a weak, weak woman who are drawn to people who could snap me in half.

You don’t ever get to ‘fuck with Aria’ in any of the games, but she does give you a smooch in DLC for Mass Effect 3. It’s pretty nice gesture for someone who could vibe check your brain in 2 seconds flat if she wanted to.

Sebille (Divinity Original Sin 2)

I’m almost convinced that Sebille was the one who created vibe checks. After all, the moment you meet Sebille she puts a needle to your cheek and threatens to kill you. Some cowards took that as a reason to butcher Sebille, but do I look like a coward? You stab me with a needle and I’ll kiss your feet, cannibal queen.

Sebille eventually falls for you, kisses you and calls you dearest, but she still has that sharp edge that let’s you know she’s always down for several vibe checks if you really want it. Just make sure she brushes her teeth first, you don’t want kisses and vibe checks just after she’s eaten someone now do you?

The Huntress (Dead by Daylight)

Surprising nobody at all, the original Halloween babe the Huntress has made it on this list. She’s well known by the Dead by Daylight community as a killer that hums a Russian lullaby her mother used to sing to her. She’s incredibly freaky and I am in love with her. Please vibe check me with a hatchet to my face, you Amazonian goddess, you.

There are other monstrously attractive ladies in Dead by Daylight, but for me The Huntress just has it all. She’s tall, protective of women and has a lovely voice. The only downside is she probably wants to kill you, but that’s the whole point of this article, isn’t it?

Isabela (Dragon Age)

I’m pretty sure everyone gave a dramatic sigh the moment they saw Isabela’s name appear. Everyone who knows me is aware that I’m willing to die for Isabela from Dragon Age 2 at the drop of a hat. Yet despite the meaning of this list, Isabela is possibly the only character here who wouldn’t be down to kill me without a good reason for it.

This may seem surprising, Isabela is a badass pirate after all, but she’s also got a heart of gold and is generally a very affectionate person to her friends. If I asked her to vibe check me, she’d probably question my reasons and whether she would get paid for it. I admire that.

Velvet Crowe (Tales of Series)

Velvet Crowe would not only vibe check you, but she would send your soul careening into Purgatory at the same time without even a blink of an eye. She’s a tormented daemon lady, and has an arm that would make vore enthusiasts lose their marbles. Oh, and she’s completely traumatized by the loss of her brother, Laphicet. I love a tragic backstory, don’t you?

For the majority of Tales of Berseria, Velvet is very down for the murder of absolutely anything that gets in her way. That includes her companions at times (e.g Magilou), so if she’s up for that then you can bet your bottom dollar she would vibe check you into the sun. I, for one, would be extremely grateful for the opportunity.

Edelgard Von Hresvelg (Fire Emblem Three Houses)

I know what you’re thinking.

‘But Aimee she’s a war criminal!’ Well, I didn’t say I had good taste in women so technically, you’re projecting on me and that’s your fault.

But in all seriousness, Edelgard is my favourite character in all Fire Emblem. For one, she has the perfect amount of angst that I thrive off and she projects an emotionless facade when inside it would probably kill her to even initiate a vibe check. Her character is just that good, folks.

Widowmaker (Overwatch)

Are you guys kidding me?

She’s blue, French and has a Play of the Game animation where she steps on the player’s neck. Of course she could vibe check me.
