Werewolf the Apocalypse reveals all in new trailer

For fans of the pen-and-paper RPG, Werewolf the Apocalypse being revealed at PDXCon may have just been the highlight of the event. The game has been teased by developers Cyanide for a while now, though with only a few hints and clues to go off on. It’s left a lot of us wondering when we’ll actually see what the game looks like.

But now with the reveal of a brand new trailer, fans may still not know even a little about gameplay, but the premise of the game has thankfully been shown and it’s similar to the pen-and-paper game.

In the trailer, fans were shown a man known as Cahal. Cahal is, you guessed it, a werewolf. One that has been exiled from his tribe several years ago, for reasons that are currently unknown. However he has returned, hearing that his tribe is in danger from a group called Endron, an oil-producing subsidary. The group are installing an extraction site and as such, destroying the forest around a sanctuary.

As you would expect, this news doesn’t sit well with Cahal and in return, he has planned to fight back against the machines with his rage, one of the main components of him turning into a werewolf.

According to Patch, Cyanide’s Game Director, Werewolf the Apocalypse carries over all the main aspects of the pen-and-paper game in an unflinchingly mature universe overflowing with current topics such as the destruction of nature by man and their machines.

Rage is also a component that was included in the pen-and-paper game. In this game, players will have to learn how to control it in order to use it to their advantage against their enemies.

A specific date hasn’t been given, but Werewolf the Apocalypse is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC sometime in 2020.
