The Last of Us 2 release date trailer revealed a lot of information, some bad, some good, some troubling and some that’ll truly surprise you. One piece of information that we received was that the game would be launching not just on one blu-ray disc, but two.
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, it’s been nearly 4 years since the game was teased at E3 and the original game was already pretty big. For it to be on two discs, however, well, that seems like a game of epic proportions.
It was recently confirmed that Square Enix’s remake of Final Fantasy 7 would also be split, but rather into parts than actual discs. Meaning that, unlike the former, we’ll get The Last of Us 2 in its entirety when it releases.
It was US retailer Best Buy who revealed that the game would be on two separate discs. For those who haven’t ever had to play a game on two seperate discs before, this might be alarming at first, but we assure you that your experience won’t be ruined.
That said, if you don’t have much space on your hard drive then we recommend either investing in more space, or freeing up your console’s drive by deleting a few games. Don’t worry though, you’ve got plenty of time to do it as the game releases on February 21st.
But for those who haven’t played the game, you may be wondering what makes The Last of Us 2 so special, or what it’s even about. We can’t tell you much, but we can tell you that it’s based in a post-apocalyptic world where Ellie, the protagonist, is trying to survive along with her father-figure Joel.
If this kind of setting butters your biscuit, then you’re in luck as The Last of Us Remastered is coming to October’s PS Plus. Perfect timing, right?
