Act It Out XL, a deluxe version of Charades, is coming to PS4 and Switch

Charades can be so hard to play with friends. You’ll always have that one friend who never makes any sense, whilst the other just takes ten years to think of something. Luckily, Act It Out XL, by studio Snap Finger Click, is a game that’ll make playing charades that much simpler.

Act It Out was originally released on the PS4 and Wii U only three years ago, but Snap Finger Click, have decided that bigger is actually always better and have a new and improved game that they want to share with the rest of the world.

“Games like Charades and Pictionary are timeless classics, but traditionally you play them without a console,” says Martijn van der Meulen, Co-Founder and Development Director at Snap Finger Click.

Charades but without the hassle

“We wanted to do this differently, and changing it into the fast paced fun experience that has been done before in TV versions of these classic games. It feels like the right time to bring this to console.” Meulen continued, “our Design Director, Joanna Haslam, knows what makes great content from her work on the Buzz! quiz games, and she spent many months researching absolutely the best and most hilarious things to act, sing, draw or describe – in multiple languages. We wanted the content to be top-notch”.

As you can probably tell from the XL in the title, there is double the content of the original game with over 3,000 phrases spanning across TV, movies, video games, and more, all updated for 2019.

As well as the carefully curated in-game content, players can invent their own phrases making this a great title for any audience. The game supports 2 to 8 players in the living room. The Live Show game mode lets up to a million viewers play the game with a streamer on Twitch and YouTube.

Are you interested in Act it Out XL? You don’t have to wait long, as the game is said to be coming out in a couple of months. An exact release date is currently unknown.
