FantastiCon 2019 is go for launch
FantastiCon 2019 returns for its sixth year at the Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, UK. The event takes place over the weekend of the 17th and 18th August.
FantastiCon is one of the most diverse and groundbreaking conventions in the UK.
The event plays home to traders, computers, tabletop games, virtual reality, a dedicated NERF and drone racing arena, 3D printer displays, retro gaming, console gaming, Lasertag arena and of course their main stage which features panels, Q&A sessions, special guests and live music.
All that, twinned with their famous ‘free and unlimited biscuits and soft drinks for everyone’ pledge!
Headline events for 2019 include:
- Dr Richard Dixon’s escape room
- A dedicated Drone Racing Arena with professional drone pilots racing through a full 3 dimensional track created within a double height squash court at the heart of the convention
- Live on stage RPG sessions with Simon Burley
- Live Longsword demonstration with Lee Conley
- The very latest in virtual reality with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR, all under the watchful eye of our VR demonstrators
- Get a photo with Daleks, the TARDIS, the Bat Signal and many more props built by superfans the Sons of Skaro
- Go back to the old school at the super popular retro gaming area with Sam ’16-bit’ Stanley and Lee ‘Keep it Retro’ Playle. Try one of the retro databases and hunt down that long lost game from your childhood among over 1000 titles
- A four way Mariokart fastest lap tournament in which you can compete for a real life trophy
- The Golden Grail Tavern, a medieval themed bar stocking much delights as traditional mead, ale, grog, nettle wine and more
Joining FanastiCon will be Sarah Johnson (AKA Symyoulater), a trans streamer and Esports sim racer, who will be bringing her amazing sim rig that she races with at home which will be twinned with a second rig so the public can participate in a full VR game of ‘cops and robbers’!
Gayming Magazine is proud to be supporting Sarah in this season’s racing and honoured to have our logo on her car’s trans-flag inspired livery.
With all this and more, FantastiCon 2019 is already shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before!
