Hasbro resurrects the Tiger Electronics LCD handheld
Well, this is a blast from the past and further confirmation that everything from the 90’s is becoming cool again!
The monochrome Tiger Electronics LCD handheld was the precursor to the original Gameboy. Small, haphazardly pixilated and barely audible, it allowed gaymers to take a single video game featuring classic characters on the road, to school cafeterias, beaches and everywhere in between. When the Gameboy really dominated the handheld market, the Tiger Electronic device became obsolete and disappeared from pop culture for two decades.
Now, Hasbro is resurrecting the late 80’s/early 90’s handheld and re-releasing it in 2020! Powered by two AA batteries and boasting updated designs – both visually and audibly – the monochrome semi-system is launching later this year with iconic titles including The Little Mermaid, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Transformers: Generation 2 and X-Men: Project X. Pre-orders are now available via GameStop.com.
The LCD 2.0 is selling for $14.99. Is that cheap enough for you to go grab one while supplies last? If they bring back Aladdin, I’m all in.
