Confetti’s Cozy Corner: Tranquil Isle, a cozy quickie… what can be better than that?!
Have you ever had a short break in your day between tasks and wanted to play a low-demand, cozy game? Tranquil Isle has been my go-to low-demand, cozy game between my day-to-day tasks. As someone with ADHD, I break up my day into focus time and breaks, and sometimes during the 10-15 minute breaks, the need to dive into a cozy game is strong.
Tranquil Isle is a strategic town builder set to a calming lo-fi soundtrack. You can choose from three modes to play: Classic Mode, Sandbox Mode, and Classic Mode – Daily.
In Classic Mode, you will choose between four terrains: Grasslands, Wayo, Alpine, and Desert, and select the size of the island you want. Once you select your chosen path, you begin placing homes and slowly building the town. Placing buildings increases your score and unlocks more buildings, but where buildings are placed must be strategic. Depending on placement, buildings can buff or debuff each other, impacting the score.

As the town you build grows, more milestones will be reached, which allows players to choose new sets of buildings. Every seven milestones grants access to a bridge that allows you to connect your starting island to another island. The gameplay is relaxing, straightforward, and fun!
While Tranquil Isle is not a passive background game like a Spirit City: Lofi Sessions or Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk, it’s minimalist, mellow and atmospheric, gameplay has wonderful benefits for those who look for are looking for a low demand game you can play when short on time but want to do something cozy and fun!
Not all cozy games need to be overly complicated or long. Tranquil Isle, created by a solo developer, highlights a corner in the indie community that focuses on short burst games that leave players fulfilled and with great vibes before returning to the mundane tasks of the day.
Tranquil Isle is $4.99 and is available on Steam
