How to access the Ithillid Powers menu in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 presents your character’s main conflict almost immediately; Mind Flayers have kidnapped them and implanted one of their tadpoles into the protagonists’ brains. It turns out this is true for all of your companions, turning the little worm into your uniting force. But BG3 is a hugely expressive game, and Larian Studios is no stranger to giving players a litany of options for their adventure.

Because of that, you can, of course, eventually lean into the powers your little parasite gives you. Like any good RPG, these powers have branching upgrades, and they have their own menu to boot. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t explicitly tell you how to access this menu, so we’re here to help.

How to access the Ithillid Powers menu in Baldur’s Gate 3

To access your Ithillid powers, you first need to reach the point in the game where you start talking to your Protector while you sleep. This is the other character you created during your opening section. Once they start appearing in your dreams and tell you that you should develop the powers the parasite gives you, you will be able to start using this menu by pressing the B key on PC. You can also access it by pressing K to open your spellbook and navigate to the Ithillid powers tab.

That said, you also need additional worms to actually use the menu and develop your Ithillid powers in Baldur’s Gate 3. To get more worms, you need to take out boss disciples of The Absolute. When you kill them, you will be able to extract their parasites and take them for yourself. Each worm is an upgrade point that you can insert directly into your character’s brain to give them Mind Flayer abilities.
