Eternights reveals more about gay romance option, Yohan
Eternights, an RPG with dating elements and hack ‘n’ slash gameplay, has revealed more about how it intertwines the tension of combat with dating characters like Yohan, Yuna, and more.
In Eternights players take on the role of a nameless protagonist who gets pulled into a post-apocalyptic adventure like no other. To survive players will need to fight, strategize, and funnily enough, date, in order to save the world from complete destruction.
With such a heavy burden on the protagonist, you would probably be forgiven for thinking that Studio Sai’s upcoming RPG is a serious, angsty guy who takes his job as the hero of this new and terrifying world seriously. However, if you’ve read our preview of the game, you’ll know that is, in fact, far from the truth. Not only can you be a wise-cracking asshole, but a sentimental sweetheart who is just a little bummed that the end of the world meant they missed out on a hot date. Drat.
But all is not lost. As explained above, PlayStation has revealed via their blog just how combat and your relationships affect one another.
“What we’ve done with the combat in Eternights is have companions fight with you. Each companion has their own supporting skills that can be used in battle, such as Yuna’s various healing abilities, Sia’s ice attacks to debuff enemies, and Min’s barrier skills to increase your resistance to enemy attacks and hazards.” The blog explained. “Companions can also unlock new elemental attacks for your character, which you can use to break elemental shields that some tougher enemies might have and use super effective elemental attacks that are advantageous against an enemy’s element.”
However, it isn’t just the ladies that will help your character out. Despite describing itself as similar to Persona, Eternights stands head and shoulders above the game by simply including a same-sex love interest. This romance option goes by the name of Yohan, and while the Eternights blog post didn’t tell us a whole lot about him, it did let us know that to get on his good side, you’ll need to show plenty of courage.
As for his power, again, there were no real specifics outside of Yohan providing great buffs to your character, as well as other companions. He is also very pretty, as you can see from the tweet below.
Say no more, we don’t need a better reason to date this stud.
Eternights is launching for PS5, PS4, and PC on September 21, 2023.
