Nicolas Cage is coming to Dead by Daylight
Filed under ‘things that we’d never ever expect’ is a Nicolas Cage unveiling – specifically one that reveals his arrival to Dead by Daylight.
The renowned actor is one that’ll have most giggling, either because he makes the absolute absurd seem serious, or the serious seem so absurd. There’s no real in-between. And now Nicolas Cage is heading into the Fog, joining other Dead by Daylight icons like Laurie Strode, Leatherface, and more.
Of course, the key difference is that… Nicolas Cage is a real person. How is this going to work at all? Behaviour Interactive invites you to find out via a teaser trailer (below) that promises more info on July 5. Consider us invested.
The teaser trailer didn’t reveal anything about Nicolas Cage’s perks, or even his ‘backstory’ (does that count, if he’s a real person?) which drove him to the world of Dead by Daylight. Yet, as far as we know, it isn’t just his likeness that will be used in the asymmetrical horror game, but his voice too.
The team at Dead by Daylight has previously asked their community – through polls and surveys – whether real-life individuals would be something the player base would want in the game. The developers further clarified that this meant big names in the celebrity world. As it turns out, Nicolas Cage, the man, the myth, the legend, wasn’t the only person who the team approached. Mathieu Cote, game director of Dead by Daylight, confirmed via a press conference that they also approached skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk.
What this means for the future of the multiplayer horror game and further cameos remains to be seen. In the meantime, more information about the upcoming new Survivor (or Killer, just in case) will be revealed on July 5.
