Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim to release this summer
Despite being an asymmetrical horror game where four Survivors are chased by one rampaging Killer, the Dead by Daylight community is famous for its love of romance, steamy references and pure, unfiltered thirst. With that in mind, it makes sense that Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight dating sim now actually exists.
“You wanted it? You got it! Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim mixes horror, humour and
romance to create a fresh way for fans to interact and create an emotional bond with their favourite Killers,” says Mathieu Côté, Head of Partnerships for Dead by Daylight. “Our goal with our first visual novel is to provide fans with a completely unique and surprising new way to experience the world of Dead by Daylight.”
Available later this summer, Behaviour Interactive revealed to us and the rest of the press that Hooked on You is their very first visual novel, one that allows players to romance their favourite Dead by Daylight Killers. To make the game the best as it could be, the team collaborated with Psyop, the creators of the visual novel I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator.
Regardless, the team Hooked on You will still reflect the dark twists and tales that are expected in Dead by Daylight and its Killers. Players who step foot on Murderer’s Island will find out their companions, four dead-sexy Killers, are equally interested in both murder and romance. So you may find true love, or just friendship, but there are still more than a few different ways to be hacked to death too. Be sure to tread carefully.

The reveal of a Dead by Daylight dating simulator isn’t all too surprising as the game’s trademark appeared in February earlier this year. There’s also the fact that in a questionnaire that was released to fans last year, the dev team asked fans which genre of game they’d like to see However, with a release date of this summer, it looks like we’ll be getting our hands on our favourite Killers pecs (and hearts?) sooner than we first thought.
It was also revealed during the press event that there is a probable chance that there would be even more iterations of Hooked on You, but with different Killers. So if you’re one of those fans disappointed that you won’t get your chance to, ahem, sing for The Trickster or play doctor with The Nurse, then don’t fret – there could be more dating sims on the way. Even so, players should be aware that as of now, the options for these dating sims would only look at original Killers – so no, you won’t be kissing Michael Myers, no matter how hard you try. Fans more interested in kissing and getting to know Survivors should also keep an eye out in the future.
If it wasn’t already clear enough, the team at Dead by Daylight confirmed that while Hooked on You is certainly part of the franchise, none of the events of this dating sim should be considered ‘canon’. Bummer.
