I know you played Sunset Overdrive like this

Sunset Overdrive is one of my top action-adventure, hack-and-slash games on the Xbox. It has more narrative, more side quests, more friends and more weapons than other traditional games in its same catalog. It’s no surprise to me that the title developed by Insomniac Games and published by Microsoft Studios debuted to positive reviews in October 2014; and won numerous awards after its first 1,000,000 copies sold. There was also one huge power-up to playing this game – the in depth character customization.

No matter what gender you identify as, Sunset Overdrive has a look for you thanks to an expanded character customization system. Some outfits are studious, some are rocking, some are athletic and some are alternative. And then there’s a mostly nude option that allows you to walk around in nothing but a pair of underwear. As a gay man who thirsts after every hot man that moves, I was quite happy to see this option because it gave me something nice to look at in a game about killing energy drink junkies. I often found myself transfixed by my avatars body and hoped for a little extra shaking and moving in his underwear as I zipped across the city. Of course, I played the entire game with my muscular player in nothing but a pair of red or white boxer briefs.

Or I kept him in a pair of black jeans with no shirt on because one of the game’s major drawbacks is having body designs that skipped leg day. I need the whole package, sirs. Better yet? Sunset Overdrive offers the same sets of customization for its players that want a female avatar in equal amounts of undress. Even better still? Due to my extensive research, I saw there is a completely nude mod that allows you to transverse Sunset City in the nude. Although, I’d skip that option because it makes the male models look like Ken dolls.

The game is set in the not too distance future in the metropolis known as Sunset City. When the game begins, you work as a FizzCo employee spending your night working a concert and product promotion – for the biggest, happiest, most energizing drink on the planet! But the drink never completed testing in labs and now it’s turning anyone who drinks it into OD, alien-like mutants who attack those not affected by the carbonation. If that wasn’t enough, FizzCo and the government are planning to cover-up the disaster by eradicating the city. Swing, grind, slide (what am I talking about again) and navigate your way through the disaster zone to save all survivors and vacate your home before it’s too late.

A sequel to Sunset Overdrive was announced by Insomniac Games in September 2018. However, the developer was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in August 2019, and now it seems that the game has been put on hold.
