Story of Seasons celebrates 25th anniversary with new console ports
Grab your farm animals, kiss your significant other, and crack open the champagne, because Story of Seasons is celebrating its 25th anniversary through console and PC ports.
Story of Seasons, previously known as Harvest Moon by the West and Bokujou Monogatari in Japan, is a well-loved farming simulator with RPG elements such as customization, as well as popular romance options that have made each playthrough all that more personal for players.
The series has been around for 25 years now, with the newest entry, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town having released in March this year. It includes a new location, new people, as well as fun, interactive events and activities for players to get stuck into. And that’s not even talking about the new things you can do around the farm. Pioneers of Olive Town also comes with an expansion pass, one that’s been filling out with content as the months have gone by.
Now, with 25 years of beloved farming to celebrate, Marvelous has announced three things. The first is that Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be coming to PC on September 15th, then Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will receive console ports for the Xbox and PlayStation on October 15 2021, and – just in case you thought that was it – there’s going to be a new Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin themed costume DLC for Pioneers of Olive Town. Can we get a nice? Nice!
With so much new content like console ports and DLC for Story of Seasons, this year of celebration looks as though it’s going to be a special one. Ports to more platforms will allow more people, who perhaps couldn’t play before for various reasons, to try their hands with a game series that so many people are enamored with.
