Rainbow Game Jam 2019

Rainbow Game Jam is back for its fourth year in 2019, taking place from August 23rd to September 8th. Rainbow Game Jam encourages participants to create games exploring and celebrating identity, gender, sexuality, sex, life, Intersectionality, being queer, yourself and your community, pride, protests, and love! 

Rainbow Game Jam was founded in 2016 by Steven Taarland and began as a social group for Scottish queer developers. The first jam was held in the summer of 2016 in Scotland and has been held annually since. Kirsty Fraser joined Steven as co-organiser from the 2017 edition onwards.

Since starting, the Rainbow Game Jam has had over 100 entries from participants all over the globe.

In 2018, Steven and Kirsty were recognised for their work on Rainbow Game Jam with the Advocacy Award at the European Women in Games Conference.

2019 marks the fourth year of the Rainbow Game Jam and it is running online from August 23rd through to September 8th. Themes and diversifiers will be announced closer to the starting date however people can check out previous entries on itch.io/jam/rainbowjam19
