Dance or Die: OnShape Releasing on VR This Summer
Dance Dance Revolution is a dying juggernaut, but OnShape is hoping to rejuvenate the idea by giving fans a new dance experience on an emerging platform.
Odders Lab is gearing up for the release of OnShape, a virtual reality game where players must dance and strike poses to avoid walls and missiles launched at you by hostile forces on a foreign planet. Think of a more musically inclined version of the Hole in the Wall game-show that you can play in the safety of your own home.
According to OnShape’s official website, the game can be played on three difficulty settings, and three colors of obstacles will appear with a variety of unique abilities that you will need to overcome to complete the level.
While the graphics may look a little reminiscent of a Wii game, I’m all for players getting in some exercise and combining two passions – video games and dancing – into one medium. And remember, virtual reality is still finding its bearings and maybe OnShape 2 will be higher quality.
OnShape is releasing this summer on PlayStation VR, Steam VR and Oculus.
