Lake is coming to Nintendo Switch this week
Lake, a relaxing, story-rich walking simulator for developer Gamious, is finding a new home on the Nintendo Switch.
Revealed via publisher Whitethorn’s Whitethorn Winter Showcase, Lake will be heading to the platform on February 15.
Lake was my personal Game of the Year back when it first launched for PC in 2021, and as expected, it was reviewed favorably.
Set in the year 1986, players take on the role of Meredith Weiss — a big career woman who returns home to the little town of Providence Oaks for some well-needed vacation time. Only, in typical workaholic fashion, the vacation is taking over her father’s job delivering mail to PO’s residents.
What starts as a few weeks of relaxation can quickly turn into something more, depending on the player’s choices. Meredith can meet up with old friends and reminisce. She can chat with new acquaintances. She can even fall in love — and yes, that even includes same-sex relationships.
And now players can help Meredith do all of that on the Nintendo Switch.
As far as we know, it’s just Lake that will be heading to the Nintendo console and not its Christmas-themed DLC and expansion, Lake: Season’s Greetings. However, if all goes well, I don’t doubt that the expansion will be finding a home there soon too.
Lake releases on Nintendo Switch this February 15. You can also help Meredith find her place in the world via PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
