Dragon’s Dogma 2 releases next March

During the Capcom showcase on Tuesday, the company showed off gameplay and announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will officially release on March 22, 2024.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes place in a parallel world to the setting of the first game, which first released back in 2012. It follows a character called the Arisen (you) whose heart has been taken by the evil Fell Dragon. Your character gets caught up in a power struggle between two nations while trying to retrieve their heart. One is fronted by a queen regent who wants to put her son on the throne by putting forth a false Arisen. The other sees Pawns as a source of misfortune, and has turned to a different religion to try to ward off calamity.

Pawns seem to be just as important in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as they were in the original. They have special skills, including translating languages they know that they player doesn’t. As you advance, Pawns can too, making them more powerful or useful.

You will be able to customize your main character and main Pawn with multiple customization items. The developers stated that they aimed to make characters even more photo-realistic in this character creator, and also introduced a simplified way to create a character. This game also features a new vocation, the Trickster. They are a more passive class and use a censer and the smoke it produces to confuse enemies, create illusions, and buff pawns.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam next March, but pre-orders are now open for all platforms.
