Calico pounces onto PlayStation consoles in November
On Thursday, developer Peachy Keen Games and publisher Whitethorn Games announced that cozy, fantasy cat café simulator Calico will release for PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles on November 28.
Calico is a “day-in-the-life sim” where your goal is to revitalize your town’s local cat café. To start, you can create your own customizable avatar, who you can further personalize by dressing them up in a variety of cute clothes. As you play and explore more, you will find additional collectible clothing items that you can add to your wardrobe selection.
Players are able to decorate the café with cute furniture and decorations, while also creating a menu of yummy drinks and pastries to serve up to the locals. To serve your guests, you will play mini games to bake your pastries, each of which have their own set of mini games. During these sections, you shrink down and navigate your kitchen to complete the games, then serve your products to your customers to earn special rewards.
The game also features a somewhat open world map that you can explore to meet and befriend various kinds of animals beyond cats. You can befriend them, name them and then decide if you want them to travel with you or hang out at the café. Once an animal comes to stay with you, you can play with them, cuddle them, pet them, and even dance with them. You can also change their sizes by using game’s potion system.
This game is already available for players on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. But now PlayStation 4 and 5 players will be able to experience Calico for themselves when it releases on these consoles on November 28.
