Can you be gay in Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical?

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a star-studded project from Summerfall Studios. Written by David Gaider of Dragon Age fame, and with a huge cast of voice acting icons including Matt Mercer, Janina Gavankar, Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, and Felicia Day, the game is bursting with talent from across the video game industry.

In this game, players take on the role of Grace, a college dropout who’s holding auditions for the band she’s part of with her roommate and best friend Freddie. After everyone else has gone home, Grace meets another young woman named Calliope. The two connect and Grace thinks Calliope might be a future bandmate, only for her to later show up at Grace’s apartment, dying. Before she dies, Calliope gives her power as an Idol and the last Muse to Grace, leaving her with a body on her hands and god-like abilities she doesn’t understand. She has to use these powers to force other characters into musical battles so that she can uncover the truth of Calliope’s murder and prove her innocence to stay her execution for the crime.

Of course, the main question always remains: can you be gay in Stray Gods?

Can you be gay in Stray Gods?

You can be gay in Stray Gods! The game has a total of four romanceable side characters, two of whom are women. One is your best friend and roommate Freddie, a normal human who obviously loves Grace to pieces and would do anything for her. The other is Persephone, the former queen of the underworld who now runs a club that’s inspired by it. She’s definitely a hard-ass, but if you can crack her icy shell, there’s a warm heart underneath.

There are also other NPCs within the game who either are in current queer relationships, or who explicitly were in the past.
