Can you be gay in Honkai Star Rail?
Honkai Star Rail is the latest RPG from miHoYo, the development team behind gatcha sensation Genshin Impact. The game is set in a science fiction universe that is very focused on space travel. It’s currently only available on PC and mobile, but PlayStation ports are in the works as well.
Like Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail uses a gatcha mechanic with its large cast of anime-style characters, meaning to add new characters to your party, you have to draw them through a random capsule pull using in-game currency. Each character has their own loadout, tactical style, and rarity rating, so there’s an incentive for players looking for a particular character to try to draw them in the gatcha system.
These characters vary significantly, with each belonging to their own sci-fi faction and having their own strengths and backstories. There are men and women among the different crews, so the inevitable question arises: Can you be gay?
Can you be gay in Honkai Star Rail?
Unfortunately, as of right now you can’t be gay in Honkai Star Rail. Despite being an RPG with a large cast of characters, the game does not have any romance options at this time. That doesn’t mean that couldn’t change down the road, as this RPG is still being updated, but for now we unfortunately can’t woo any of our crewmates or rivals.
Players can choose the gender of their avatar character, though the options are limited to binary options of male or female. These options may grow more diverse as the game develops as well, but for now those are the only options available.
