The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition launches in March
On Monday, Obsidian Entertainment, Private Division, and Virtuos announced that The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition will release on March 7 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. This edition of the sci-fi RPG is “the ultimate way for new and returning fans alike to experience the beloved RPG,” according to a press release.
This version of The Outer Worlds will include higher resolution graphics, a dynamic weather system, overhauled lighting and environments, improved performance and load times, enhanced details on characters, an increased level cap, and more. Players who purchase the Spacer’s Choice Edition will receive the full The Outer Worlds base game, plus its two DLC add-ons, Murder on Eridanos and Peril on Gorgon. This edition will go for $59.99. Those who already own the game and/or its DLCs on last gen consoles can upgrade to this version for $9.99.
In this sci-fi RPG, players take on the role of space colonists who are lost in transit while on their way to the edge of the galaxy. When you finally wake up, decades later, you find yourself in the midst of conspiracies and political strife threatening to tear the Halcyon colony apart. It’s up to you to handle these conflicts as you see fit, all while exploring the far-reaches of the galaxy and meeting a diverse cast of characters along the way. Like many modern RPGs, the game also features romance-able NPC characters across genders, and also prominently features queer storylines — like asexual lesbian mechanic Parvati. There’s also a cow that hangs out in your spaceship.
Those looking to return to Halcyon and those setting out on their adventure for the very first time can look forward to picking up The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition on March 7 for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
