LGBTQ+ game Princess Farmer now available on mobile
Princess Farmer, a visual novel/match-three hybrid from publisher Whitethorn Games and developer Samobee is now available on all mobile platforms.
Princess Farmer is an episodic game that features both visual novel elements during character interactions and match-three mechanics for the main gameplay elements. There are three different playstyles players can use to get through these levels, and different level goals keep things interesting.
In this game, you take on the role of the titular Princess Farmer, a rabbit who was just an ordinary farmer until one day she woke up underneath the Gaia Tree. Through the magic of Mother Gaia, Princess Farmer is now able to raise entire rows of vegetables easily to make matches and can smash through obstacles. Players can get their farm on solo, with a friend through co-op, or even with an AI companion. Our rabbit protagonist also has a cast of characters to interact and chat with, and maybe even romance.
The game’s mobile release will also include new, version-specific content. Players will be able to take on challenges with the all-new Quest system where you play through three randomized tasks each day to earn heart coins or stars (which are a new currency exclusive to mobile devices). Once you’ve completed twelve of these daily tasks, you will receive a huge payout of coins or stars. These tasks refresh daily, not upon completion. The mobile version is also bringing new hare dyes, outfits, and sparkles to Ro’s shop for purchase.
Princess Farmer is also one of the finalists for the Games Without Borders Awards alongside 41 other indie games. GWB is Tencent’s indie game support team and indicator. The awards offer “a significant prize pool and promotional support to help indie teams succeed,” and there is no entry fee or travel required to submit your game.
