VCT Game Changers 2022 Championship bracket unveiled

On Monday, Riot Games and the Valorant Champions Tour revealed the bracket for the group stage of the 2022 VCT Game Changers Championship, and also provided an explainer for how the tournament will work and who all is participating.

This year’s VCT Game Changers season will wrap up in Berlin, Germany with the Championship tournament, which is also the first-ever international LAN event for the Game Changers circuit. Teams from six regions (Europe/EMEA/Africa, North America, Latin America, Brazil, East Asia, and Asia ELITE) competed across all of 2022 to rack up the wins and circuit points needed to secure themselves a spot in this historic event.

Teams qualified for the 2022 VCT Game Changers Championship

North America (2 teams)
  • Cloud9 White
  • Shopify Rebellion
EMEA (2 teams)
  • Guild X
  • G2 Gozen
Brazil (1 team)
  • Team Liquid
LATAM (1 team)
  • KRÜ Esports
East Asia (1 team)
  • FENNEL HOTELAVA
APAC ELITE (1 team)
  • X10 Sapphire

Tournament format

The eight participating teams will compete in a double-elimination, best-of-three bracket to qualify for the best-of-five Grand Final on November 20. This means that teams will not be eliminated from the competition immediately if they lose. Instead, they’ll be able to play again against other teams that have lost in the lower bracket. The team that survives all the way through the lower bracket will join the team that survived the upper bracket in the Grand Final.

VCT Game Changers 2022 Championship bracket

The matchups for the first round of the tournament have been decided. They are as follows:

  • Cloud9 White vs. KRÜ Esports
  • G2 Gozen vs. X10 Sapphire
  • Guild X vs. Shopify Rebellion
  • FENNEL HOTELAVA vs. Team Liquid

Though Cloud9 White are coming into this tournament as obvious favorites thanks to their now-dynastic reign over North America, this is the first time we’ll be seeing Game Changers competition on the international level, so we really don’t know how things will play out. There could be upsets and underdog stories, or the queens of the north may just become the queens of the world. We’ll find out when the action kicks off on November 15.
