Odyssey Interactive reveals Omega Strikers

On Friday, Odyssey Interactive – a studio founded by former leads on League of Legends and Teamfight Tacticsrevealed their debut game, formerly known as Project P. The game is actually called Omega Strikers, and is a free-to-play, three-vs-three knockout striker competitive online game. The game is now in closed beta on PC, and will be completely cross-platform when it releases on PC, consoles, and mobile devices in 2023 and beyond (the different versions are currently in different stages of development).

“Odyssey was founded with the mission to ignite the competitive spirit of the next generation of players – one that we feel will be the biggest, most inclusive and most connected ever,” said Dax Andrus, co-founder and President, Odyssey Interactive. “Omega Strikers builds upon the lessons our veteran team has learned running some of the most popular multiplayer games in the world. Today, as we launch Omega Strikers into Closed Beta on PC, we take the first major step in an exciting journey ahead for a game that we’re building to inspire players now and for years to come.”

Omega Strikers took influences from multiple other competitive titles to create its gameplay loop. It features goals like Rocket League, champion characters to master like in League of Legends, and physical knockout mechanics like with Super Smash Bros. Players take on another group of three strikers to try to be the first to score 5 points. Matches end when one team is able to do this and be two points in the lead. Players will be able to play in solo queue or group up with friends to participate in ranked, unranked, and custom game modes. The game will not include loot boxes, consumable power boosts, or paid competitive advantages.

“Players can unlock all Strikers through regular play or choose to purchase exactly what they want through the in-game store,” Odyssey wrote in their press release.
