Teacup arrives on iOS and Android August 18

On Monday, Whitethorn Games and Smarto Club announced that they are partnering to bring explorative adventure narrative game Teacup to iOS and Android devices on August 18. The game has been out on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 4 since September 2021, but now mobile audiences will be able to hop into the froggy fun as well.

Teacup is the name of both the game and its main character. Players follow a frog as she sets out on an adventure to find all the ingredients she needs to throw the perfect tea party for her friends. The exploration elements are non-linear, so you can wander the woods to gather herbs however you choose to. As you explore the world of Little Pond, you and Teacup will meet a cute cast of woodland creatures. Their personalities all differ, but each is willing to listen to the introverted little frog and her needs.

Players will also get to solve all kinds of different puzzles and engage in whimsical minigames. Teacup the frog will need to do anything from organizing a market stall to winning a swimming race, and more, in order to gather everything she needs for her party. All of her adventure is rendered in a painterly style reminiscent of a Monet landscape.

Smarto Club is a three person game development studio from Santiago, Chile. Their focus is on providing “friendly gameplay and beautiful looking art to anyone who wishes to lose themselves in digital world.” Teacup is their debut title, though the team’s development ethos seems geared towards creating similarly cozy games in the future.

Players can access Teacup now on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 4. Mobile users on Android and iOS devices will gain access to the game August 18.
