Post Malone is streaming Apex Legends all week as part of ‘Gaming for Love’

On Monday evening, Apex Legends announced that American singer, songwriter and rapper Post Malone will be streaming the game on his personal Twitch channel every night this week to raise money for several charities in an endeavor they’re calling “Gaming for Love.” The charities Post Malone is raising money for include Human Rights Watch, Project Hope, United Way, and The Trevor Project. The stream week kicked off on Monday and will continue through Sunday, July 24 starting at 6 p.m. PT each night.

“Tune in this week while I game for love & raise money for @hrw,@ProjectHOPEorg,@UnitedWay, & the @TrevorProject,” Post Malone wrote on Twitter. “Shout out to @PlayApex & @Respawnfor their support. Donate & spread love. Stream 1 is tonight at 6pm pst :).”

Post Malone’s streams will continue through Sunday, with each day supporting one of the listed charities. Monday’s stream was in support of Human Rights Watch, which is a New York-based organization that specializes in research and advocacy for human rights. Project Hope, another of the supported charities, is an international health-care organization. United Way is a fundraising organization whose mission is to “fight for the health, education, and financial stability for every person in every community.” The Trevor Project is a suicide prevention and crisis support organization for LGBTQ+ youth. By the end of the first day’s stream, Malone had already raised over $20,000 for Human Rights Watch.

Post Malone has gained notoriety in the music industry for his blending of different musical subgenres, like hip hop, pop, R&B, and trap, in his work. He has also made appearances on shows like Good Mythical Morning, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Myers. In June, he released his most recent album, Twelve Carat Toothache. His Twitch channel currently has 494,000 followers, though his only VODs are from the Gaming for Love Apex Legends charity streams.
