Apex Legends update fixes Loba, Wraith, and more

On Wednesday, Respawn announced that it had launched an update to fix several issues that have been plaguing Apex Legends for a while now. These fixes include Loba’s bugged translocation, Wraith’s damage-eating teleportation, wonky replicators, and Xbox headsets not playing nice with the game.

This update didn’t come with a normal set of patch notes on the Respawn website. Instead, the developer tweeted out a bulleted list of fixes on the Apex Legends account. This is likely due to the fact that the update had already been pushed out to game servers when the tweet went out, as this was a highly requested patch. Players have been dealing with the problems this update addresses for months now, and many have been eager for a response from Respawn.

Many players, myself included, have encountered a bug with Loba where her tactical ability – a translocator bracelet she throws to teleport across the map – doesn’t work on the Storm Point map. While not one of the more crucial tactical abilities in the game, it can be anywhere from an inconvenience to a death sentence in a game if your teleport doesn’t work when you’re expecting it to.

On the other end, Wraith has had an issue with her abilities glitching to be too good. The Legend previously experienced a bug in January that allowed her to equip and shoot weapons while using her void tunnel teleport, which she’s not supposed to be able to do. More recently, players have encountered Wraiths that occasionally don’t take damage while using their abilities, obviously giving them an unfair advantage in combat encounters.

The other big problem Apex Legends players have been dealing with that was addressed by this update is Xbox headsets not working with the game or having terrible VOIP quality. This has been an ongoing issue since last year, but it’s gotten worse as time has gone on. In-game replicators, where players can craft items, have also been acting up. The latest update is meant to stop them from limiting player movement during use, but the crafting stations have also swallowed players into the map before.
