The Sims 4 High School Years pack revealed

On Thursday, Maxis revealed The Sims 4 High School Years pack, which will be available on PC and consoles on July 28.

This expansion is set in a whole new world called Copperdale, a former mining town on the shore of Lake LaSuli, where players will get to take on a high school storyline as teens. You’ll attend Copperdale High (go Womp Womps!), where you can “truly live out your teenage dreams, explore your identity, and test boundaries through choices and growth.”

Copperdale is actually made up of seven lots created by The Sims 4 community content creators . The boba/thrift shop, ThriftTea, was created by MsGryphi. Meanwhile, the library was created by xfreezerbunnyx and the high school principal’s old money mansion was created by JOL1990.

The hallways of Copperdale high will be the main focus of your time in The Sims 4 High School Years. Here, you’ll be able to attend classes, make friends, eat in the cafeteria, take exams, and choose which extracurricular activities you’d like to take part in. You can become a cheerleader, play football, play chess, attend computer club, check out events like the science fair, or simply go home and be an angsty teen in your room.

If you decide to pursue an athletic activity, you can practice to boost your respective skills in this area while participating in tournaments and building lasting bonds with your teammates. Teenage sims will also be allowed to experience the highs and lows of young love, be that through crushing on a cute classmate, or figuring out how to survive a first breakup. According to Maxis, Plumbite Pier is a great date spot since it has a tunnel of love, a haunted house, a ferris wheel, and a photobooth to capture all those sweet teen memories. Your sims will even be able to attend prom and graduation.

The High School Years pack will largely focus on giving your teenage sims a chance to explore their identities and capture what it’s like to go through adolescence. Alongside this pack’s release, the base game will receive a free update that will add an option to give your sims body hair. Those who purchase the new pack will be able to have their sims grow and groom their body hair as they experience puberty. The pack, of course, will also include options for LGBTQ+ romances, as shown in the preview trailer, and will incorporate the new pronouns system.

More updates on this will be available on July 15 during a Maxis stream on their Twitch and YouTube channels.
