Nier: Automata comes to Switch in October
During the Nintendo Mini Direct Partner Showcase on Tuesday, the gaming giant announced that Platinum Game’s hit RPG Nier: Automata will be available on the Nintendo Switch on October 6.
This version is called The End of YoRHa Edition and will include previously released downloadable content and costumes, along with new costumes exclusive to this version. Those looking to snag Nier: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition can pre-order it via the Nintendo eShop starting today.
Nier: Automata first released in 2017. The game was developed by Platinum Games – the team behind the Bayonetta series – and published by Square Enix. Nier: Automata is a sequel to 2010’s Nier, which is actually a spin-off/sequel to the Drakenguard series. Automata follows combat android 2B, scanner android 9S, and a rogue prototype android named A2, as they navigate a world that has been torn apart by war between humanity and an invading alien species. The game requires multiple playthroughs to see the whole story play out, and the player character varies depending on these playthroughs and sections of the game.
There’s currently only one piece of DLC for Nier: Automata, 3C3C1D119440927. This includes the “Revealing Outfit” costume for 2B, the “Young Man’s Outfit” costume for 9S, and the “Destroyer Outfit” costume for A2 – which are from Nier: Replicant. 3C3C1D119440927 also adds three sub-quests in the form of three unique combat encounters at three different colosseums. A music video made in collaboration with punk band amazarashi called “Deserving of Life” is also part of the DLC scenario.
The End of YoRHa Edition of Nier: Automata will include the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC, and additional costumes that are exclusive to this version. The one showed off in the promo trailer during the Partner Mini Direct features a red and white kitsune mask. These costumes will only be available in the Nintendo Switch version releasing October 6.
