8 new projects join the Black Game Developer Fund
8 new projects from black game developers all around the world have recently joined the Black Game Developer Fund, an initiative that looks to help black independent teams and developers to get their games off the ground or into the next stage of development.
Partnered alongside Humble Games, the Black Game Developer Fund was founded back in June 2020, and these 8 new projects, have brought the total number of funded projects in the BGDF to over 25. No small feat, and incredible for not just gamers wanting to play games from black developers, but the developers themselves who need a helping hand to make their dream a reality.
The developers joining the project are listed below:
- CryoGX: Advent Neon
- Jordan Scott: Arbiter
- Kaizen Creed: 5 Force Fighters
- Miscellaneum Studios: Distraction Machine
- Neo Interactive: Samurai Zero
- Pancake Games: Slime Heroes
- RainBros: (To Be Announced)
- Soft Not Weak: Spirit Swap
Humble Bundle’s annual $1 million Black Game Developer Fund is all about identifying talented game makers and providing the resources and support to help them take the next step on their journey. They do this in a few different ways.
- Getting resources – BGDF funding can be applied towards software tools, office space, training or other related expenses that will benfit development.
- Giving support – BGDF will collaborate with the program’s participants on establishing production milestones and a schedule of deliverables for showing progress on the work. The committee of BGDF will also be available for periodic consultation.
- Getting your game out there – Once the game is nearing completition, BGDF will will provide guidance with regard to seeking a publishing agreement, if viable, or continuing to refine the game independently.
