The Knight and the Maiden is the perfect game for fanfiction lovers
The Knight and the Maiden also known as The Knight and the Maiden: A Modern Medieval Folk Tale is probably the best game for those of us who are suckers for certain tropes in fiction.
A personal favourite of ours is crossdressing, e.g, a man dresses up as a woman, or a woman dresses up as a man and vice versa and if you feel the same, then we’re happy to tell you that The Knight and the Maiden from Stark Raving Sane Games is going to tick a lot of boxes for you.
In this character-driven and story-rich adventure, you’ll be thrust into the world of the glorious city, Castamont. A city of spectacle, gorgeous horizons and a prestigious royal family, there’s more than enough there to strike up your fancy.
But the only fancy the mysterious knight protagonist has is that with the Princess of Castamont, a beautiful young woman called Iris who they hope to ask for their hand as a favour for winning The Grand Tournament – an event that brings many knights together to compete for the traditional boon granted to the winner by His Serenity, the Prince.
Unfortunately for the Knight, his reluctance to reveal his face has only made the competition tougher and then there’s Lady Charlotte, the young knight’s sister who also seems to be hopelessly in love with Princess Iris. Does this mean that the Knight will have to fight his own sister? Questions, so many questions…
The game is currently in development, with a release date of ‘coming out when it’s done’ or ‘sometime in 2022’. Well, we do love a good surprise.
