RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar reaches 1M downloads in the space of a month
RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar launched last month and has made quite the splash in the process, raking in over one million downloads according to the game’s publisher, LEAF Mobile.
Not only has RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar been downloaded over 1 million times, but it has also averaged over 150,000 Daily Active Users. Alongside that, we know that from the AppAnnie data, the game has also ranked in the top 100 grossing iOS games in 40 countries. The game also reached 1# in the role-playing category for iOS in 44 countries. It’s not a bad first month!
RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar is a casual / idle game where players are encouraged to enter the Werk Room and design a queen (and their signature fashion) in order to win competitions and events. It’s only a small part of the RuPaul Drag Race world, but it’s one that players are clearly interested in exploring.
After players are finished with the Werk Room, where they’ll be perfecting their look, it’s time to go out there and verse other Queens to see who can get the best look. You’ll have to earn items in order to have a fighting chance, which can be purchased through real money or through grinding away.
The overall reception for LEAF Mobile’s take on the wildly popular drag show has been mixed, with some reviews mentioning that despite the game being fun, it seems the game is mostly a cash grab where those who shell over real money are able to get further through the game’s episodes and stories, whereas those who don’t are left in the dust.
That said, with a star rating of 4.5 on the game’s official iOS page, it does look as though the majority of fans are pleased with what LEAF Mobile and Eastside Games have to offer when it comes to the drag department.
