Patch 6 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will feature a new playable class and salami

It’s no secret that Baldur’s Gate 3 is a fantasy CRPG that has not just Larian Studios fans biting at the bit, but fans of the Dungeons & Dragons game and setting too. So there’s no understatement when we say we’re all pretty excited to have the next update for Baldur’s Gate 3, patch 6, coming our way.

Larian Studios announced today via Steam that they, alongside Baldur’s Gate 3, would be at EGX – a gaming event happening from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th of October. The reason this is a big deal is that guests at the event will be able to get an exclusive preview on the next playable class and…salami?

Here’s the full announcement about the class below. It sounds very…sorcery:

“Once again we find ourselves in a familiar situation. We’re out of lockdown and eager to see you all again, but that doesn’t mean we’re slowing down at all. Patch 6 is almost here, and we’re excited for you to get your hands on it! It’s our biggest ever patch for Baldur’s Gate 3. If you’re attending EGX this week in London, you’ll get an exclusive preview…featuring a new playable class. Who’s ready to make some magic?”

As for the salami news… Well, there’s a reason why we mentioned it in the first place. If you cast your mind back to the fun and wacky ‘Twitch Plays: A Most Noble Sacrifice‘, featured in Panel From Hell 3, you’ll remember that there was an incident with a salami. To be more precise and to use Larian’s own words, if you’re a fan of “the sound of meat hitting meat” then you’ll be overjoyed to find out that you can now dual-wield salami in Baldur’s Gate 3. Now you really can hit Wyll with your meat.

As always, a new patch – and a hefty one at that, weighing in at 60GB – will mean that previous saves will not work. But if we’re being honest, salami weapons more than make up for a non-functioning save file.

A release date for patch 6 of Baldur’s Gate 3 has yet to be confirmed.
