PS5 firmware update lets you remove the screenshot icon pop-up
The PS5 firmware update (set to come out sometime today) looks to add a lot of exciting things – such as the option to remove that annoying and downright frustrating screenshot icon that pops up. It appears every time you press the button that’ll let you take a screenshot, and can be incredibly difficult to work around, especially because there is a slight delay with each press of the button.
This may not seem like an incredibly exciting update to some, but for those players out there who love to take multiple screenshots for various purposes – artistic reasons mostly – or for game journalists who work in guides… Well, this new screenshot icon change for the PS5 is a game-changer. No longer do we need to pause to take another screenshot, we can just keep on pressing that button! Ah, wonderful.
The news comes from Twitter user Nibellion, who revealed that the change can be made via the Shortcuts for Create Button section within the PS5’s settings.
Again, it might not be the most sexy-sounding update, but we for one will take this even over the option to play our Nintendo Switch with Bluetooth headphones. Seriously, it’s just that good of an update (and probably should have been included when the PS5 first launched, but you know…)
Regardless, today has been a very good day for PS5 and Nintendo Switch fans.
