Dead by Daylight to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community today with Into the Rainbow livestream
We’ve all been waiting for this moment, but now it’s finally here! Behaviour Interactive has committed to streaming a special event called Into the Rainbow that involves LGBTQ+ Dead by Daylight content creators being pitted against each other in matches. 2 teams of 5, as well as 2 hosts…Well, what could be better than that?
We’ve talked with Game Director Mathieu Cote in the past about the queer potential of Dead by Daylight and how many queer fans relate to the characters within the game, despite them not having any dialogue outside of grunts of pain, and want to see their LGBTQ+ identity confirmed in someone they relate to. While no characters have been confirmed as of yet, there have been some steps in the right direction for Dead by Daylight – with the Into the Rainbow live stream being one of them.
Originally announced via a news blog post back in early June, the Into the Rainbow stream is all about good times, absolutely phenomenal drag and some moving Pride stories from players, as well as developers, about the connection between Dead by Daylight and their queer identities.
For the duration of the stream, the team will be running a live community fundraiser with all proceeds generated being donated to the Trevor Project. The Trevor Project does incredible work on suicide prevention within the LGBTQIA2+ community at a national level for over 20 years. But Behaviour Interactive also wants to support the local community too, and thus will be making a donation to Project10, a Quebec based organisation focused on providing support and services to LGBTQIA2S+ youth.

The Into The Rainbow (#IntoTheRainbow to be more precise) event will start today at 12-5pm ET (5-10pm UK, 9am-2pm PT) on the Dead by Daylight Twitch channel.
