Sunless Skies creator reveals romantic visual novel Mask of The Rose: A Fallen London Romance
Kiss kiss, fall in love with perhaps a dash of some eldritch shenanigans? Failbetter Games, the creators behind Fallen London and Sunless Skies, have revealed that they are developing two games, the first being Mask of the Rose: A Fallen London Romance.
You can tell from the title alone that yes, this is going to be a romantic visual novel and yes, old and new players will have a blast exploring the well-trodden world of Fallen London.
For those who aren’t aware, Fallen London is a browser game from Failbetter Games with over 2.5 million words to entice players into a city that’s been moved underground. With so many words, you could probably fit War and Peace and The Lord of the Rings in all that! So yes, there’s a lot of content for you to delve into.
With that sort of setting to look forward to, what can players expect from Mask of The Rose? In this game you’ll be playing as someone who is slowly adjusting to Victorian London being transported underground. You’re situated in a boarding house with other lodgers, not all of them are human, and there’s no real reassurance that anything will go right. Which makes it a perfect time for you to get to know the people around you. Romantically.
Mask of the Rose takes place as a prequel before Fallen London, as well as Sunless Seas and Sunless Skies. So if you haven’t yet to play either of these three games then don’t worry, this game will give you more than enough information to not leave you completely clueless.
