New Mass Effect artwork teases exciting things for the future of the sci-fi series

Despite the near radio silence from BioWare about what the new Mass Effect will be about, we may have just got our very first tease that could give us an idea of what to expect in the sci-fi series’ future.

Thanks to a post on Tumblr (thanks for the tip, Eurogamer!) we know that BioWare’s new book, BioWare: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development, has some very interesting pictures of a new Mass Effect game. More importantly, some may even point to taking place in the same galaxy as Andromeda.

The three pictures shown in the Tumblr post are below. They’ve been labelled as ‘The Future of BioWare – Back to Space.’

All of these images are fascinating in their own right, but what intrigues us the most is the first and second image. The first looks like the Remnant technology that we found in Mass Effect: Andromeda, tech that is native to the Heleus Cluster in the Andromeda galaxy. If this is part of the new Mass Effect game, could we be getting a sequel to Andromeda?

There’s also what looks to be the construction of a Mass Relay. Mass Relays are part of a ginormous network that spans across galaxies and systems, but more significantly, they allow interstellar travel. If this is indeed a sequel to Andromeda, does this mean that perhaps they’ve found a way to get back to the Milky Way? Only time will tell.

The last image looks to be on a planet that’s either very dusty or doesn’t get much light. Perfect for an introverted person like me if it’s the latter!

What are you hoping to see in Mass Effect’s future? Let us know in the comments below!
