Destiny 2 Is Gay? Apparently, It Always Has Been

Destiny 2 is a juggernaut of a video game, and not just because of how big it is. Its community has been around for a long time and there are people who dedicate themselves to knowing every inch of the game’s lore – including the characters and who they are. So perhaps we really shouldn’t be surprised to find out that yes, Destiny 2 is gay and, apparently, always has been.

As Forbes contributor Paul Tassi pointed out in his own article, Destiny 2 has hinted towards a legendary gay couple for a long time now. This couple, now confirmed, is that of Guardians Osiris, a Warlock, and Saint-14, a Titan. These characters are both legends within Destiny’s universe, so it’s safe to say that yes, them being a couple is actually a pretty big deal.

As Tassi explains, the relationship between Osiris and Saint-14 hasn’t exactly been subtle over the years. Osiris does go on a near suicidal mission to break time in two in order to save Saint-14 from death. And yes, almost destroys the world in the process. Some may argue that they’d do that for a friend, but come on! If you ask us, that’s just a little gay…

The relationship between the two legendary Guardians was officially confirmed by Narrative Designer, Robert Brooks. He tweeted out on Saturday the following: “So yes, Saint and Osiris are gay. Always have been.” He later went on to confirm that he had always interpreted the relationship between the two as romantic, and was overjoyed to have that confirmed when he went on to become a Narrative Designer at Bungie.

The reason for a more explicit answer is because, according to Brooks, he didn’t feel that it needed to be a puzzle or a secret that’s kept from the player. And as we at Gayming Magazine will tell you, representation is most important when we can see it.
