Fall Guys raises $1 million for charity SpecialEffect

Fall Guys has stolen our hearts in the very best of ways. It’s got a huge community, and with less than a month of being launched, has already dedicated itself to helping raise $1mil for charity, SpecialEffect.

The reason for the donation was thanks to Fall Guys kicking off a bidding war by challenging brands to donate money to SpecialEffect. The incentive for doing so? The brand that donates the most money will earn themselves a skin for the popular battle royale game. The game saw a range of competitors, including a bidet company. Which, y’know, was our personal favourite to win.

But not even a bidet can withstand the power of a four way team-up of AimLab, G2 ESports, and streamers Mr Beast and Ninja – all of which donated one million dollars to charity. Meaning that, with four collaborators, we can expect four different skins to come to Fall Guys in the future.

They don’t look half bad either! As Fall Guys official Twitter says, maybe this is the spiciest team-up since The Avengers!

According to a press release, CEO of SpecialEffect, Mick Donegan, was “blown away” by the generosity of the brands that came forward to help raise money.

“When the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions hit earlier this year, the charity was facing a significant reduction in funding income due, in part, to many of its key fundraising events being cancelled or postponed.” Donegan has been quoted to of said, via VideoGamer. “As a charity that doesn’t charge for its services, this donation will be invaluable in helping to make up for that shortfall.”

Fall Guys is available to play on both PC and the PS4.
