Celebrate the LGBT+ community with The Pride Deck
Sometimes you just need a deck of cards that’ll let you show off your pride. After all, who doesn’t want a deck of cards that, when spread together into a circle, makes a rainbow? And that’s just one of the benefits of backing The Pride Deck.
Currently on Kickstarter, but having already met its goal with 12 days still to go, The Pride Deck’s goal is celebration and spreading awareness. As summed up in it’s Kickstarter, creator Kyri states “the Pride Deck is a project inspired by the LGBTQ+ and Queer community, that aims to celebrate everyone who participates at the annual Pride and expand the awareness of all the identities and orientations that sometimes get left out!”
There are a total of 54 different designs in the deck, with each card having their own theme: a flag for hearts, crystal for diamonds, sword for spades, and flowers for clubs.
The Pride Deck will contain the following cards:
- Ace: Asexual
- 2: Bisexual
- 3: Polysexual
- 4: Aromantic
- 5: Genderfluid
- 6: Pansexual
- 7: Agender
- 8: Intersex
- 9: Demisexual
- 10: Non Binary
- J: Transgender
- Q: Lesbian
- K: Gay
- Jolly/Joker: Allies
The inclusion of allies might be upsetting to some, but as creator Jade explains it, “[Allies] might not be a member of the LGBTQ+ or QUEER community but, just like the role of the card, they are meant to support the other cards and the community!”
